THE BITTER IN LOVE

The Bitter in Love
by David Burkhart

When the honeymoon is over,
At each other you start to shove;
When she refuses to believe your story,
Then that's called the bitter in love.

When you take her out to a nightclub
And on the floor you start to move,
And you see her watchin' another,
Then that's called the bitter in love.

The bitter in love comes to all folks
Who pay the preacher and then make a vow;
For the bitter in love is impartial
And you realize you've had it now.

If you stick it out, you'll be happy;
True love's like the stars up above,
But if somehow she leaves you,
Then that's called the bitter in love.
